The photo was from Maya's conference talk. The message used Aarav's name. It only wanted a list of contacts.

Identity Under Attack, episode 4: A Profile With Her Face. Fragment 04, the profile.

Same face. Same name. Same job title. One of them had been online for years. The other was eleven days old.

11:30 AM. Wednesday.

Aarav Mehta had been on the team for three days, and he was doing what new people do: connecting with everyone. Nina. Jordan. Sam. Maya Brooks, the partner whose name came up in every second meeting.

Maya had accepted his request on Monday. So when a message from Maya Brooks arrived on Wednesday, he opened it without a second thought.

A friendly message from a profile called Maya Brooks welcoming Aarav and asking him for Nina's list of vendor contacts.

It was friendly. It used his name. The photo was Maya's, the one from her conference talk.

Aarav went to her profile to check the spelling of her company's name, and stopped. It was not the profile he had connected with on Monday.
