It was 5:48 PM on a Friday, and the shared folder with six weeks of work was about to expire. The button was right there.

The email knew Sam's name, Sam's client and a project nobody had announced. That was exactly why it proved nothing.

5:48 PM. Friday.

Sam was packing up when the email arrived. It used their first name. It named Maya's company and the brand refresh they had been working on for six weeks. It said the shared project folder was about to expire.

An email addressed to Sam by name, naming Maya's brand-refresh project and saying the shared folder will be archived at six unless Sam signs in to keep access.

At ten to six on a Friday, it was a reasonable thing to worry about. The folder held everything they had made for Maya. The button was right there.

Sam's cursor was on it when they remembered where else they had seen the project's name that week.
