IDENTITY UNDER ATTACK · EPISODE 19

The Search Result About Me

Page one was the Jordan he knew. Page two had his old number, an old neighbourhood and a personal email, all public, none of it agreed to.

Identity Under Attack, episode 19: The Search Result About Me. Fragment 19, the search.

None of it was secret, exactly. But together it was a version of Jordan that anyone could borrow.

10:30 AM. Saturday.

After the list of the team's posts, Jordan felt he owed everyone one more search: his own. Not his profiles this time. Just his name, in quotes, the way a stranger would look him up.

The first page was what he expected. His current profile. The event talk. The company's website.

The second page was not.

The second page of search results for Jordan's name: a people-directory listing with an old neighbourhood and phone number, an old job profile, a student forum post with his personal email, and a cached page from a former employer.

He scrolled down and stopped at a mobile number he hadn't used in six years.
