IDENTITY UNDER ATTACK · EPISODE 30

You Are More Than Your Accounts

The same minute as the first episode. A message from Nina, about a new bank account. This time Maya smiled before she picked up the phone.

Identity Under Attack, episode 30: You Are More Than Your Accounts. Fragment 30, the whole identity.

It was the same moment as the very first episode, to the minute. The difference wasn't luck. It was everything around it.

9:14 AM. Tuesday.

Maya's phone showed a message from Nina. The display photo was Nina's. The name was Nina's. The message was short and a little rushed, the way Nina writes when she's between calls.

A message from Nina at 9:14 AM that starts with Maya's name, says the bank details are changing, promises a screenshot by email and a call to confirm, and asks Maya not to pay anything new until they have spoken.

Maya read it twice. It started with her name. It promised a screenshot. It promised a call.

She smiled, opened her contacts, found the number saved as Nina (verified), and called anyway.
