Arjun found the offer in ninety seconds. What mattered was what he did in the next ten.

Riya was on a client call when Arjun appeared in the doorway with the tablet held out in front of him like something he had found in the garden.

He had been playing the same game for three weeks. Somewhere between levels, a message had arrived: a free upgrade, the good kind, the kind his friends had. All he had to do was tap the link and sign in with his game account to claim it.

He did not tap it. He walked into a room where an adult was clearly busy and interrupted her.
