Ethan left Northstar on good terms. His email account, his phone and his laptop never got the message.

10:05 AM. Friday.

Alex hadn't opened the admin page for the company's email and file accounts in months. He had to reset his own password just to get in.

Priya pulled a chair over. The client's question from the day before was still open on the other screen: is Ethan Brooks still on our account?

Ethan had been Northstar's account manager for three years. Clients liked him. When he left for a new job, the team bought him a cake with his name spelled wrong on purpose, and he laughed harder than anyone.

That had been seven weeks ago.

Alex typed Ethan's name into the search box.

Status: Active.

He scrolled to the right.

Last activity: yesterday, 7:12 AM.

Evidence 01: Ethan Brooks's account record. Status active, last activity yesterday morning, seven weeks after his last day.

Priya leaned closer. "That can't be right."
