The Rule Nobody Understood

Jordan followed the new file rule exactly as he understood it. That's how forty client proofs ended up on his personal transfer account.

The Last File, episode 15: The Rule Nobody Understood. 14:20 Wednesday. A client email with the wrong link.

2:20 PM. Wednesday.

Nine days after the new rule, Priya was copied on a client email she almost didn't open.

It was from Jordan, Northstar's account manager, sending final proofs to a retail client ahead of a Friday print deadline. Forty files. Friendly, quick, on time.

Then she saw the link.

Evidence 01: Jordan's email to a client with forty proofs shared through a free transfer site on his personal account.

It wasn't the company drive. It was a free file-transfer site, signed in with Jordan's personal account.

Priya walked over to his desk. He was finishing his third call of the afternoon and waved her into the empty chair.

"I know what you're going to say," he said, before she could speak. "But I did what the rule said."

Priya blinked. "How?"

"No more attachments. You told me yourself."

She had. And that was where it started to unravel.
