THE LAST FILE ยท EPISODE 14
What Are We Actually Protecting?
Alex filled a whiteboard with everything the company could keep an eye on. The newest person in the room asked who would protect all that data.
10:30 AM. Friday.
Alex had been in the meeting room since eight. The whiteboard was full.
After a long night with the nine-page policy, he had decided to start over. If the old version was vague, the new one would be complete. Every risk covered. Nothing left to interpret.
So he had written down everything the company could possibly keep an eye on.
When Priya walked in with two coffees, he turned the board toward her like a finished drawing.
"Eleven areas," he said. "If we cover all of them, we can't miss anything."
Priya put the coffees down and read the list from top to bottom. Then she read it again, slower.
"Alex," she said. "Which of these protects Brightline's files?"
